ModelGuessr is a free browser game. We collect the minimum necessary to make the game work and to show fair leaderboards.
What we store
- A random anonymous identifier in a first-party cookie named
mg_cid. This lets you rejoin your room and track your daily challenge attempt. It is not linked to your real identity. - The nickname you type when joining a room or the daily challenge. It is displayed to the other players and on public leaderboards. Pick anything — a pseudonym is fine.
- Your guesses, so we can compute scores and public statistics about model “guessability”.
- Optional prompt suggestions you submit. These are reviewed by an admin before being added to the game.
What we don't collect
- Your email, phone number, or real name.
- Third-party advertising cookies.
- Cross-site tracking beacons.
Third parties
- Vercelhosts the site. Standard server logs (IP, user agent, request time) are retained per Vercel's policy.
- Neon (PostgreSQL, EU region) stores the game data described above.
- OpenRouter is used to pre-generate answers. When you create a room with a custom model, the prompts are sent to OpenRouter. Prompts are part of the game content, not personal data.
Your rights (EU / GDPR)
Because we only store a random cookie ID, there's usually nothing to delete beyond clearing your browser's cookies. If you have submitted a nickname or prompts and want them removed, contact us (see the footer link) with the cookie value or your room code.
Changes
We'll update this page if we add analytics, ads, accounts, or anything else that materially changes what we collect.
